Braided Fiber Technology™

Smarter Flossing Starts With Braided Fiber

At Dr. Emma, we engineer floss from the fiber up. Multiple precision filaments are twisted and interlaced to form a compressible braided structure—designed to adapt as it passes between teeth and rebound during cleaning.

Why Braided Fiber?

Typical monofilament and flat-tape floss maintain a relatively fixed profile. Braided Fiber Technology™ is designed differently:

• Compresses when passing through tight contacts
• Recovers after entering the interdental space
• Creates a fuller, textured cleaning surface
• Combines adaptability with structural strength

How It Works

01 — COMPRESS
The braided structure narrows under pressure to adapt to tight interdental contacts.

02 — PASS
The compressed profile supports smoother movement through the contact area when used correctly.

03 — REBOUND
After passing between the teeth, the resilient structure recovers to create a fuller cleaning surface.

Engineered Through Research

Our R&D process studies filament selection, filament count, braid geometry, density and tension control. Prototypes are evaluated for dimensional consistency, tensile strength, compression, recovery and resistance to fraying before production.

From floss picks to electric floss refill heads, Braided Fiber Technology™ brings our fiber engineering into everyday oral care.
